The Motorola Media Manager is intended for developers writing media-rich content for Motorola handsets. It enables the consolidation of media content such as bitmapped graphics and music files, and their packaging into a single "theme" file for easy storage.

A theme configures several common handset settings and consists of the following:

• Screensaver — an animated image covering the entire screen that plays when the handset is idle
• Wallpaper — a graphic adorning the screen's working area that might be a personalized image or company logo
• Ring tone — this could be a customized short unique sequence of sounds, or brief interval of MIDI music
