The MOTODEV Summit in Bangalore, India on May 14 was an intensive, content-packed one day program dedicated to today's most creative and innovative application developers. As Vice President, Software Platforms and Ecosystem for Motorola, Christy Wyatt is responsible for the development and management of Motorola's strategic platforms, ISV and developer ecosystems. Christy and her global team drive platform definition, design, and development and cultivate a thriving developer environment through partner recruitment/management, tools development and support, ISV management and go-to-market programs. She currently serves as Motorola's board member for the Linux Foundation, LiMo Foundation, and Eclipse Foundation.

Prior to joining Motorola, Christy served as Worldwide Developer Relations Director at Apple Computer where she was responsible for partners, global alliances and evangelism. Before her time at Apple, Christy was Senior Director at Palmsource Inc., responsible for their licensing and developer relations teams where she grew the developer community from 3,000 to 200,000 with more than 14,000 applications.

Christy has also held key technical, sales and business development roles at Sun Microsystems, JavaSoft and ESRI.

Vinay Avasthi is a Principal Staff Engineer in Motorola's Enterprise Applications Research Labs which is part of the Application and Software Research Center. He is currently working in the area of mobile enterprise applications. Specifically, he is looking at challenges in the deployment of applications on mobile devices. Other areas of interest include social networking and its impact on mobile devices and enterprises. Vinay joined Motorola in 1994 and holds Masters degrees in Telecom and Software Engineering from the Illinois Institute of Technology and Management from Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore.

Mahad has 20 years of software industry experience and has spent the last 10 years at Motorola's Mobile Device business. Mohit is an Operating Partner with Sequoia Capital India. Prior to joining Sequoia Capital, Mohit served as the Senior Vice President - Value Added Services ("VAS") & Alliances at India's leading telecom company, Bharti Cellular Ltd. At Bharti, his group was responsible for significantly growing the VAS P&L by launching successful innovations in electronic recharging, mobile entertainment, interactive media, mobile email and mobile commerce. Prior to Bharti, Mohit co-founded Brightpod, a wireless solutions enterprise, by orchestrating a spin off from Ericsson. Earlier in his career he held senior leadership positions at Ericsson in Sales, Marketing and Strategy based in North America, Taiwan & Philippines. He received an MBA with distinction from UNC - Chapel Hill and an MSEE in Fiber Optics & Telecom from Virginia Tech.

Peter and his team are responsible for working with top-tier ISVs to identify and champion strategic marketing initiatives that bring increased visibility to Motorola and its associated developer ecosystem. Prior to Motorola, Peter created and managed Palm's PluggedIn Program and later the Palm Developer Network.

Peter is a graduate of UC Santa Barbara, CA and received a B.S. Computer Science and B.A. Business Economics.

John Ellis is the Director of Carrier Market Development within Motorola's Ecosystem and Market Development team. John and his team are responsible for all ecosystem interactions with wireless carriers worldwide, providing interactive support for the selection and inclusion of developer applications on carrier devices. His team is also responsible for the interactions between MOTODEV and each carrier's developer team, providing tools, SDKs, and technical interactions such as webcasts and technical chats in support of the carrier's work with its developer community.

John has over 18 years of experience throughout the telecommunications industry in both the infrastructure and handset businesses. He has held numerous leadership positions in Motorola with multiple international experiences including expatriate positions in both Europe and Asia. He is Motorola's Executive Council member to the LiMo Foundation and Co-Chair of the Mobile Linux Initiative, formerly in OSDL and now part of the Linux Foundation. John has undergraduate degrees in Computer Science, Mathematics, and Spanish from Valparaiso University, an MS in Computer Engineering from the Illinois Institute of Technology, and an MBA from the University of Notre Dame.

Nagarajan leads the marketing efforts for the Mobile technology group of TATA Elxsi. Nagarajan holds a B-Tech degree from College of Engineering, Trivandrum. He is responsible for global marketing of Tata Elxsi's mobile focused technologies. He served TATA Elxsi in Japan has been contributor in setting up the first near shore development center. Eric is experienced in all aspects of producing large scale international hardware/software and professional service business products and solutions. He holds the skills and the techniques required to assure they delivery as defined and scheduled. Eric holds an MS and an MBA from the University of California at Davis, 1993.

Goldy Lukka has been associated with Motorola for more than three years. He has been involved in Motorola’s Early Stage Accelerator assignments for creating end-to-end enterprise applications using J2EE, Java ME and Web Technologies in the area of device management, context aware applications and IPTV.

Prior to Motorola, he worked on client and server side applications in the Telecom and Finance domain. He contributed in the design and development of MMS & IM client for Reliance India Mobile and Thomson Mobile application for Thomson Financial Corporation. He is one of the early adopters of Java ME in Bangalore and delivered courses on Embedded Java and J2ME at Ramaiah School of Advanced Studies. In his free time, Goldy reviews and contributes to books relating to Java and open source technology.

Goldy holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Management and Bachelors Degree in Instrumentation.

Scott Lyons

Scott Lyons began his career in New York City at MTV in the mid '90s spearheading promotions for The Video Music Awards and Movie Awards. During his time at the channel, Scott also co-founded production company Sugar. In 1998 Scott moved Sugar to London with fellow MTV colleagues and quickly made a name by producing large-scale live TV and webcast events. Scott then joined WPP's interactive agency Digit as Commercial Director and was instrumental in building up the company's reputation within the advertising world. While working on the Motorola account Scott was invited to take on a new position at the company of Music Director in the just launched Global Category Marketing team. While in this position Scott spearheaded Motorola's music strategy and created platforms for preloading music across the company's device range. Scott recently joined the MOTODEV team and is looking after market development in EMEA.

Raghava is a Senior Staff Engineer in Mobile Devices Software at Motorola. Since joining Motorola in 1999, he has worked as a technical lead for development of various software modules on Motorola client devices including L3-L2 layers of air interface protocols, and UI services such as Window Management and Rendering Engine for CSS and PIM applications. His current areas of interest include semantic web technologies, social networking, and rule-based programming and inference engines on mobile devices, and working to implement this research on Motorola platforms.

Andy Mathis has over eight years of experience in the wireless industry in a variety of sales, strategy and business development roles. Prior to his current role at Motorola, Andy managed a team that led the deployment of wireless Java applications on mass market handsets across both consumer and business segments as part of the Motorola iDEN product team. In addition, Andy served as head of North American sales for Esmertec, a leading JVM provider focused on the mobile and cable industries.

Bipin George Mathew is a Senior Software Engineer at Motorola. He is currently part of the team involved in the design/architecture of MOTOMAGX WebUI. He is also involved in design and implementation of third-party APIs as well as developing prototypes that showcase the power and capabilities of the WebUI framework. Prior to holding this role, Bipin worked for a team to support media playback in the browser on Motorola's Linux platform, MOTOMAGX. His industry experience includes working on UI frameworks and web-based technologies.

David has more than ten years of experience supporting developer communities in the mobile telecoms field. He manages the UIQ developer portal and other developer content. As part of his role, David is the primary visible interface of UIQ Technology on the portal. He edited the 'Essential UIQ 3 – Getting started' booklet and launched a wiki to support the book 'UIQ 3: The Complete Guide'. Prior to joining UIQ Technology, David most recently spent six years at Symbian Software in roles focusing on developer and technology communication. David was the editor of EXE Magazine and has contributed to many varied titles including PC Expert, The Register and The Guardian.

He has a background in languages, algorithmic and programming having studied at Université Pierre et Marie Curie, and has been a member of the ACM since 1987. He created several computer associations and participated in the creation of Mobile Monday London.

Seeta Rama Murthy Velamakanni, BSc, MCA, ASD is a postgraduate from Osmania University, India. He is a Senior Symbian OS Developer at Penrillian and has 10 years of commercial programming experience, including 8 years developing for Symbian OS.

Projects that Murthy has worked on include: porting a Java environment to support a new Symbian OS look & feel, consultancy for an email synchronization development, and development of native SDK extensions for a well known Java environment. Murthy was lead developer for a port of a well known email synchronization client to UIQ3. He originally worked on Windows application development before becoming involved in Symbian OS development projects.
