Application Description:
This widget allows the user to retrieve real-time soccer matches. Users can check what match will be played in the next few days or which match was played a few days before and check the results. The widget displays details (i.e. start time, home/away team with logo, score, status) of the matches for that league that was selected. In addition to the soccer matches, a summary of the latest soccer news are displayed with the "scroll" effect on the top of the screen.
BeFunky Photo Effects

Easy Weather Widget

This Widget shows the weather in a different style than traditional ones and should be used by any person that needs to be updated about the weather, weather news and don't want to lose time, knowing what they need to, in order to be prepared. It has a modern design and has a realistic approach including background images that change in the context instead of changing just a small part of the widget. It also includes weather news around the world.
Formula 1

The Formula 1 widget was developed so everyone that has interest in the Formula 1 racing world can quickly have access to always updated news, interviews and pilots and teams championship scores. All information is directly gathered from the official Formula 1 web site, ensuring the credibility of all the available information.
Local Search
Winner of:

Local Search locates businesses and other points of interest in a city. Using your phone, you can find places of interest quickly and easily. You can also bookmark your favorite places, save your most frequently searched locations, and search and save locations in another city. If you are lost, there is a good chance the place you are looking for will appear with one click in the category listings. For each location, you can see photos people have put up about the place, initiate a call, see it on a map, and get directions from where you are.

The purpose of this widget is to provide details of all traffic events in a particular region. Due to information like the type of event (incident or construction), the date of occurrence, estimated date of termination, the direction, the exact location via maps, available in different zooms, the degree of severity and so, the user can decide to chart a route to the destination diverting from the local traffic and thereby reducing the stress and time of arrival. It operates only throughout the United States.

1. What is the MOTODEV Widget Developer Challenge?
The MOTODEV Widget Developer Challenge is designed to encourage all developers to get actively engaged in the future of mobile through the smallest and most personal unit of power on the mobile web. 2. Why is MOTODEV launching the Widget Developer Challenge?
A thriving widget community is an important part of creating a better mobile experience that delights users around the world. We want to support and recognize developers who create great widgets for Motorola.
3. Do I have to be a MOTODEV member to participate?

4. Who is eligible to participate?
The Competition is open to all individuals who have agreed to the Official Rules and who are of the legal age of majority, at the time of entry, to form valid contracts in their respective country, province or state of legal residence and meet any applicable U.S., national, state, local, or provincial legal requirements for participation.
The Widget Developer Challenge is void in, and not open to residents of, Cuba, Iran, Syria, North Korea, Sudan, Myanmar, or to individuals and entities restricted by U.S. export controls and sanctions, and is void in any other nation, state, or province where prohibited or restricted by U.S. or local law. In addition, the Competition is void in, and not open to residents of the Quebec Province of Canada.
Employees of (i) Motorola, (ii) the parent companies, affiliates and subsidiaries of either Motorola, and members of their immediate families (defined as parents, children, siblings and spouse, regardless of where they reside and/or those living in the same household of each) are not eligible to participate.

9. How do I qualify for the Best Overall Widget?
All winners of the 3 Main Categories (39 Applications) will qualify and be entered to win the Grand Prize for the Main Category of Best Overall Widget.
The Grand Prize will consist of:
- $25,000 Cash Prize
- The announcement and recognition of the Entrant, their Application and placement at the respective tradeshow
- A Grand Prize Winner's plaque commemorating their achievement – ARV $25

Widget Developer Challenge will accept submissions from November 18, 2008 through February 27, 2009 11:59PM (PST).
- A digital copy of the application being entered in useable form. The executable file (.mpkg) and any additional files required for installation or use must be included.
- A 16-bit color screenshot (minimum of 72 dpi) that bests depicts the Application.
- User instructions document identifying how to use the application, key functionality, special features, etc.
- 50 to 100 word description of the Application.
- 50 to 100 word description of the company/developer
- Tell us your story and be creative (i.e. PowerPoint presentation, video, etc.). The following information should be included in your story:

19. Can I submit more than 1 widget?
Yes. A single unique application may be submitted to both a subject category and a regional category, but NOT to more than one subject or region. For example, a widget that tracks cricket scores may be submitted into the "Best Widget in Sports" category for Sports as well as "Best Local Content for India", but it may NOT be submitted for "Best Local Content for Latin America" as well. Entrant may submit multiple applications.

To ensure proper upload, files that are uploaded must not exceed a file size of 5MB. See “Entry Materials” section of Official Rules for more details.
