Only the most recent version of your app will be available for purchase in SHOP4APPS.

  2. What is the difference between downloads and purchases?

Downloads refer to the total number of times customers have downloaded your application. Download numbers are listed for both free and paid applications. The Purchases column reflects the actual number of financial transactions that have occurred for your application.

  3. Why are the download numbers higher than the purchase numbers?

Customers who purchase applications have the ability to re-download these apps, which can result in download numbers being higher than purchase numbers. This may occur when a customer changes handsets, or when they download a new version of your app.

  4. Why are the download numbers for my app lower than they were previously?

Previous versions of our download report included downloads of apps by our testing team during the testing process. This number is no longer included, which may result in a lower download number for your app.

  5. How do I view a breakdown of my app purchases/downloads by version?

Select 'Show Version Breakdown' under each application on your dashboard and you will be able to view downloads and purchases for each version and pricing model of your apps.

  6. How do I see all my downloads/purchases on one page?

Developers can see all of their app downloads and purchases from all stores by clicking the Download Report CSV file on the Download Reports page.

  7. Who do I contact if I have questions about the reporting?

General questions about reporting can be posted to the Selling Your Apps board in the MOTODEV Community. If you have specific questions about your download numbers, please use the Contact Us form on the MOTODEV web site.

  8. What happens if I change the price of my app? How will that be reflected in the report?

Your app will be listed in the download report with a new row that includes the new price. This will allow you to see download and purchase numbers for your app at different prices.

  9. Are the download/purchase numbers cumulative or do they reset after payment (or some other period of time)?

Download and purchase numbers displayed on the Download Report page and in the Download Report CSV file are cumulative, showing the total number of downloads and purchases.
